Espresso martinis are a classy cocktail that combines coffee liqueur, espresso, and vodka which have become a very popular drink in the past couple of years. The key to a perfect-tasting espresso martini is finding the balance between sweet and bitter. My Favourite Places
Oak & Cru
Oak & Cru is located on the lakefront in the heart of downtown. They offer a traditional, yet smooth-tasting espresso martini. Made with absolut vodka, Kahlua, Galliano, creme de cacao, and a dark roast espresso. Until April, enjoy the experience of outdoor dome dining while sipping on your espresso martini for an extra cozy atmosphere and a delicious menu of food to choose from. Humo Izakaya
Humo Izakaya is a contemporary Asian Latin dining experience, presenting cocktails that are thoughtfully curated. Their espresso martinis have a unique twist, including chunks of coconut for a fun flavour. Featured on the menu as, ‘Cafe Cartel’ made with coconut cartel rum, coffee liqueur, Guatemalan espresso, mole bitters, cinnamon, and anise makes for a delightful taste! Check out my reel for Humo.
The Ricco Room
The Ricco Room recently opened this Summer, as Kelowna’s newest bespoke dining and cocktail bar. Their space is the perfect place to take it easy, with its tropical-inspired interior and cocktail experience. Their coconut espresso martinis have a bit of a unique spin to them, created with coconut fat-washed vodka, Kahlua, simple syrup, and espresso. Check out my reel, featuring The Ricco Room.
Born to Shake
Born to Shake is a cocktail bar, with a variety of phenomenal drinks and a chill atmosphere. Their espresso martini is one of my favourites on the menu, made with licor 43, in-house coffee bitters, and fresh espresso shots with beans from Bean Scene Coffee Works for a simple, yet so tasty espresso martini. Orchard Room
Orchard Room is a restaurant that serves fresh craft cocktails in downtown Kelowna. Their espresso martini is named ‘The Shafty’ made with a blend of coffee liquor, vodka, and espresso. If you enjoy a more sweet, creamy espresso martini, you will fall in love with Orchard Rooms! It’s definitely a go-to when I am craving a cocktail on the sweeter side.
