My Fall Life Update
I was reading my last life update that I wrote over a year ago now and realized how long it’s been since I’ve updated you all!
What a summer this was! I don’t know about you but it was one of the best summers I’ve had in a long time! It felt amazing to have things open back up and have less fires around here in the Okanagan. People have seemed generally happier (including myself) so that has been great to see – we were able to turn a new leaf after a crazy Fall and Winter.
Most of you are most likely up to speed with me as I share a lot on Instagram, but I like to go into a bit more depth here because this blog is my little oasis:)
Let me update you on what’s been going on with me!
Business Update:
October 1st I hit a huge milestone in my business and OFFICIALLY went full time with digital-marketing! I’ve been dying to tell you guys the news for months but didn’t want to jump the gun until everything was set in place. Something I never talked about on Instagram is that this whole time I’ve actually worked part-time for my parents while building my business. It was supposed to only be a temporary thing but then of course when the pandemic happened, there was a lot of uncertainty in the world so I kept at it, as it was my security blanket. I am so happy to say that I’ve finally taken the leap and 100% of my time can go to digital marketing now. This has been a goal and a dream of mine since I started the StuffwithSvet blog back in 2018. If you want to know what my services are, head to this post here.
REELS! Since last year, Instagram has changed immensely and has evolved into more of a video platform as opposed to being a photo platform like we all know it for. You’ll notice on my page that I’m constantly posting food reels + vlog style reels. That is my favourite type of content to make so I hope you love them as much as I do.
Tiktok: Last life update, I told you all I was contemplating joining the Tiktok community and well, now here we are hehe. I was very very unsure of Tiktok but it’s honestly been much better than I anticipated and I’m proud to say, I got hired for my first Tiktok this year! It’s also the platform where I definitely show more of my personality and silly side. Instagram is more curated where Tiktok showcases more of the raw, silliness and unfiltered side of me. Follow if you dare haha!
What’s next? I’m going to share my next goal with you out loud. Little scared to do that not going to lie because it feels crazy and something that would never happen BUT I learned this year that you if you don’t say your goals out loud to the universe, it won’t happen. A big goal of mine is to get on a Food Network show and be a food judge and/or a host. We watch Food Network all the time and I would loveee to go on Beat Bobby Flay. How is that going to happen? I have no flipping idea but I am putting the energy out there!!
Personal Update:
I’ve moved out of my dream apartment! If you were following me pre-pandemic, you would’ve seen me share about me getting my apartment and moving out on my own for the first time. I moved in February 2020, right before the world shut down. It was such a fun time of my life because before that I had lived with my parents, college roommates, my girlfriends, and then finally on my own. It was a huge deal to me because I had lived with people my whole life and was a major extrovert at the time so I felt that I needed to challenge myself and learn to be alone. And I did! I learned a lot about myself in that apartment and would recommend living alone to anybody. I explain about it in this blog post here.
I feel like I can share with you now since I don’t live there anymore but both my apartment and townhouse I lived in were in the Landmark District. I was in the Landmark District for 6 years which was the absolute best because it is so central to everything. I could walk and bike everywhere which was so convenient! Although I will miss the prime location, I know that chapter of my life has ended and I’m looking forward to what the future brings.
If you’re wondering where I’m living now, don’t worry, I’m still in Kelowna. I moved to the outskirts of town for some peeeeace and quiet. And I won’t get into the details as I like to keep my relationship private, but the place is actually with my boyfriend, Mason! We love the space SO much and it’s bright and airy and has an incredible view of Okanagan Lake. If you follow me on Instagram, you know that we are big eater outers, but since we moved we’ve been cooking way more and love it! Stay tuned for a home tour on my Instagram soon…
We were also fortunate to be able to go on so many road trips this summer: Tofino, Vancouver, Silver Star Resort, the Kootenays, Smithers, Revelstoke, the South Okanagan, and more! I highly recommend viewing all the travel reels on my Instagram for inspo if you’re planning on travelling to any of these places in the future.
That’s all for now! Thanks for reading and following along!! It is always SO appreciated when you read and engage with my content – I enjoy this little community I have. As always, if there’s any way you feel I can improve and embellish the brand, I’m always open to suggestions.
Love you all!
-Jenna xoxo
