The Best Food Trucks in Kelowna
This blog post highlights some of the most popular food trucks in Kelowna 🙂
The emergence of food trucks have increasingly become more prominent in Kelowna’s food scene. If you’re not familiar with food trucks, they are big motorized vehicles that are equipped to make and sell food and drink. Food trucks have been popping up all over town but you can also find them at concerts, sporting events, festivals and beaches around Kelowna.
Let’s review some of the best food trucks in the area!
Surfside California Food Truck
The first stop was Surfside California – a blend of South West food! Surfside was established in 2013 and quickly grew to become one of Kelowna’s award winning taco trucks. I had their famous tacos and shared an order of ‘totchos’ (tater tots with toppings).
Their fish tacos were served with fresh cabbage, pico de gallo, and their signature aioli. The totchos were loaded with cheese, sour cream, bacon, pickled jalopeno, and pico de gallo. It was so good! The tacos were so tasty and were made with a soft shell that had a nice grill to it. And for the totchos, who doesn’t love tater tops with toppings?! They were loaded right up with flavour. We also ended up trying their dessert taco which was amazing! It was ice-cream and chocolate served in a waffle taco…YUM!
Surfside was definitely a hit for us and I would definitely recommend you guys checking them out! They also had super sweet owners.
TNT Dynamite Food Truck
TNT Dynamite Food Truck specializes in comfort food and is known for their fresh home cut fries. Wow, these guys know how to make some french fries! I would go back solely for their fries…drool.
Their juicy chicken burger is made up of their butterflied chicken breast with homemade mango pineapple salsa, mayo, cheese, and all the standard burger toppings. Their poutine is their hot fresh cut fries loaded with a four cheese and curd blend! In terms of presentation and taste, it was definitely more of your classic burger and fries but still quite good! The poutine had tons of cheese so if you’re a cheese lover, you will love it.
TNT was the winner of the Kelowna Daily Courier Readers Choice 2019 Best Food Truck so keep an eye out for these guys!
Crasian Food Truck
The Craisan food truck stands for Crazy Asian Street Food. The owners of Craisan are also behind Provisions at Kettle and BoxcAr at BNA. I was looking forward to trying Craisan as many of you recommended their food truck to try.
Their Thai burger is made up of their two house made beef patties, peanut sauce, bacon, lettuce, grilled pineapple and cilantro. The tacos were tempura battered fish with asian slaw, crunchy noodles, cilantro and sriracha mayo. Lastly, the fries were marinated then fried, topped with garlic, mayo and cilantro.
Let me tell you, wow! So much flavor! It’s salty, sweet, and savoury all in the same bite. The flavour profile of everything was on point, as well as the presentation. These ladies know what they are doing!
Many food trucks come and go, but these three food trucks are quite established in Kelowna and have stuck around for awhile. If you’re looking to try any of them, head to their social channels or website to stay up to date and find out which location they’re at as they are everywhere!
Thanks for tuning in to this weeks blog post 🙂
