Okanagan Fall Bucket List

Fall is such a pretty time of year in the Okanagan! Between the changing leaves, cooler weather, and all the fun seasonal activities, there’s still plenty to do now that summer is over. I’ve rounded up some of my favourite spots and things to do around the Okanagan to add to your fall bucket list!

Grab a Comfort Meal

With the cooler weather here, there’s nothing better than a good comfort meal! Here are a few of my favourite local spots to check out when you’re craving something warm and delicious.

• Mad Mango Cafe – Located in Downtown Kelowna. If you haven’t tried their laksa soup yet, you’re missing out! It’s one of my favourite things to order, especially when it’s cold outside.
• Chilango’s Modern Mexican – A great spot in Kelowna for authentic Mexican food! Their tacos are definitely worth checking out.
• Little Hobo Soup & Sandwich Shop – A great sandwich and soup shop, offering much more than just those two items. It is a great place to enjoy comforting, homemade food. My go-to order is the perogies and borscht.
• Zabb Thai – One of my go-to spots for thai food! Their flavourful curries and noodle dishes are perfect when you’re craving something warm and comforting.

Visit a Farm/Orchard

Fall wouldn’t be complete without a visit to a local farm or orchard! Spend an afternoon picking pumpkins, enjoying the beautiful fall scenery, and checking out all the seasonal activities. It’s also the perfect excuse to snap a few cute fall photos!

• McMillan Farms – A family-owned farm in Kelowna with a sunflower maze, pumpkin patch, corn maze, and hayrides. I go almost every year, I love the hay ride!
• Don-O-Ray Farm – A fun spot for the whole family! Pick out a pumpkin, visit the petting zoo, and explore their Farm Adventure Park. A fall favourite!
• Davison Orchards – Located in Vernon, this is a great place to visit in the fall! Enjoy fresh baked goods, tractor rides, a pumpkin patch, and beautiful orchard views.
• O’Keefe Ranch – This historic ranch in Vernon has plenty to explore, including heritage buildings and seasonal Halloween activities like their haunted corn maze.

Bonus: Purchase a pumpkin from one of these places and bring home to carve or paint with some friends!

Go Apple Picking

Apple picking is such a fun fall activity, especially here in the Okanagan! Spend an afternoon at a local orchard and bring home some fresh apples for snacking or baking.

• Paynter’s Fruit Market – Located in West Kelowna, this family-run farm offers U-pick apples, orchard tours, and a great selection of fresh local produce.
• Rose Hill Orchard – A family-friendly orchard in Lake Country offering U-pick apples, a farm market, and small-batch craft cider.

Looking for something fun to do with friends this fall? Try signing up for a local workshop! It’s a great way to get creative, learn something new, and spend an afternoon or evening together.

• Cocktail-Making Class with Born to Shake – Learn how to make two cocktails with the help of their mixologists! You’ll also get a welcome drink and a cocktail kit to take home.
• Candle-Making Workshop with Okanagan Candle Co. – Create your own custom candle from scratch! You’ll learn how to mix scents, melt wax, and design a candle that’s completely your own.
• Pottery Workshop with Studio 108 – Try your hand at pottery with a beginner-friendly workshop in Downtown Kelowna! They offer classes where you can make your own mugs, bowls, and other ceramic pieces.
• Pottery Painting with Work of Art Pottery Studio – Pick out a mug, bowl, or another ceramic piece and paint it however you’d like! A fun, relaxed activity to do with friends.
• Pottery Workshop with Pearl & Fern – Located in West Kelowna, they offer hands-on pottery classes where you can learn to work with clay and create something of your own.
• Wreath-Making Workshop with Lavender & Lace – Get creative and make your own holiday wreath using fresh, locally sourced greenery! This two-hour workshop includes all the supplies, plus wine and treats to enjoy while you create.

Shop for Cute Trinkets

Fall is the perfect time to add a few cozy touches to your home! If you’re looking for some cute seasonal décor, here are a few local shops in Kelowna worth checking out.

• Funktional – Located in Downtown Kelowna, this cute little shop is filled with unique gifts, locally made products, and fun home accessories.
• Magnolia Lane – A beautiful home décor shop in the Pandosy area with everything from candles and throw pillows to seasonal decorations and cute kitchen accessories.
• Olive & Elle Boutique – A lovely boutique in Downtown Kelowna offering beautiful bedding, home décor, candles, and gifts.
• Modern Cottage Co. – Located in Lake Country, this boutique has a great selection of home décor, furniture, and accessories with a modern cottage feel.
• Nurtured Home Shoppe – Located in Kelowna’s North End, this shop specializes in Scandinavian-inspired home décor, natural textures, and beautiful pieces for your space.

Watch the Sunset

The Okanagan has some of the most beautiful views! My favourite time of the year to watch the sunsets is during fall in the Okanagan. Check out some of my favourite places to catch the sunset!

• Knox Mountain – A Kelowna classic with plenty of trails to choose from, including Paul’s Tomb and Apex Lookout. Great views of the city and Okanagan Lake!
• Pincushion Mountain – A bit of a climb in Peachland, but the panoramic views of Okanagan Lake are worth it!
• Myra Canyon – A beautiful spot for an evening walk or bike ride along the historic trestles, with gorgeous views of the canyon and surrounding mountains as the sun sets!
• Spion Kop – Located in Lake Country, this hike offers beautiful views of Wood, Duck, and Okanagan Lakes.
• Mount Boucherie – A short but steep hike in West Kelowna with amazing views of the lake. A great spot to catch the sunset!
• Bertram Creek Regional Park – A peaceful lakeside park in Kelowna, perfect for a relaxing walk, picnic, or enjoying the fall scenery.
• Mission Creek Regional Park – One of the prettiest spots in Kelowna during fall! Enjoy an easy walk along the creek surrounded by colourful autumn leaves.

Visit a Local Cafe

Grab a friend, do some work, or read a book while drinking a warm beverage from some of my most-loved cafes in Kelowna, BC to get in the Fall mood. Some of my favourites include:

• Analog Coffee – I love the earthy, cozy vibe of this little coffee shop! Great coffee, a cute space, and it’s dog-friendly too!
• Craft 42 Roasters – A great local spot for coffee lovers! They roast their own beans and have a welcoming, laid-back atmosphere that’s perfect for a coffee date or catching up with a friend. Their new location is super spacious!
• Karat Chocolate & Pastry – A great spot to grab a coffee and something sweet! They have a delicious selection of handcrafted chocolates, pastries, and desserts.
• Deville Coffee – A beautiful, modern café with lots of delicious drinks to choose from, including their popular Nutella Hot Chocolate! I love their location on Lakeshore.
• Sprout Bread – A must-visit in Kelowna! I love the rustic atmosphere, fresh baked goods, and variety of seating options.
