Best Matcha in Kelowna

If you’re looking for a healthier alternative to your daily cup of coffee, matcha might be the perfect choice! With its calming energy boost and rich antioxidants, it provides sustained energy without the jittery crash often associated with coffee. Made from finely ground green tea leaves, matcha has a vibrant green colour and earthy flavour, and can be enjoyed hot or iced.

Kelowna has plenty of great spots serving matcha, from classic lattes to fruity flavours and creative cold foam combinations. I’ve rounded up some of my favourite places around the city, including a few newer additions to the list. For more café recommendations, check out my blog post here.

The Best Matcha Spots in Kelowna

Komorebi Café

Komorebi is one of my favourite spots in Kelowna for matcha. This Japanese-inspired café has a beautiful, calming space and a menu full of specialty drinks. It’s also where I pick up the matcha I make at home, so you know I’m a fan! Check out my reel here.

Must try: Lavender Cold Foam Matcha – The lavender cold foam is what makes this one stand out. It adds a light floral sweetness to the earthy matcha and makes for such a good combination. I’ve had my fair share of their matchas and this is still one of my favourites!

Craft 42 Roasters

With two locations on High Road and Leckie Road, Craft 42 Roasters makes it easy to get your matcha fix around Kelowna.

Must try: Iced Raspberry Matcha Cheesecake – This one combines matcha with raspberry and cheesecake flavours for a fun, dessert-inspired drink. It’s a seasonal option, so it may only be available during the summer, so make sure to try it before it’s gone!

Tackle Box Coffee Bar

Located inside Rustic Reel Brewing Company in Kelowna’s North End, Tackle Box Coffee Bar has a surprisingly extensive drink menu.

Must try: Banana Matcha – Banana and matcha might not be the first combination that comes to mind, but it’s definitely worth trying if you like experimenting with different flavours.

Chaibaba Tea

Chaibaba Tea is a great spot to check out if you’re looking to switch up your usual matcha order. They offer a variety of matcha drinks, plus you can browse and purchase a whole selection of different teas to enjoy at home.

Bonus: You can pick up authentic ceremonial-grade matcha here, along with plenty of other tea options!

Half Blind Bean

Half Blind Bean’s Coconut MMMatcha Latte is a great choice if you like your matcha creamy with a subtle coconut flavour. It’s made with unsweetened matcha, creamy coconut milk and moringa leaf, giving it a smooth, earthy flavour without being overly sweet.

Must try: Coconut MMMatcha Latte – If you prefer a less-sweet matcha, this is a good one to add to your list!

Deville

With locations downtown and on Lakeshore, Deville is a great spot to check out if you like trying different matcha flavours. Their seasonal menu rotates often, so there’s usually something new to try.

Try: Ube Matcha – Their Ube Matcha is a fun, creamy option with a sweet ube twist. They’ve also had their Matcha & Coffee Slush on the summer menu, so definitely check what matcha creations are available when you visit.

Boa Vida Coffee Cart

Boa Vida Coffee Cart is a fun local option for grabbing a matcha, especially if you happen to catch them around town or at an event. Their menu includes matcha alongside their coffee and chai offerings.

Try: Strawberry Matcha – Their Strawberry Matcha is a sweet, fruity take on the classic. Keep in mind that specialty flavours like this may be seasonal, so check their current menu or socials before heading over.

Karat Chocolate + Pastry

Located in downtown Kelowna, Karat is known for its pastries and drinks, including a few fun matcha options.

Try: Iced Strawberry Matcha – Made with real strawberry purée, this is a refreshing twist on a classic matcha and a great choice if you like a little fruitiness in your drink.

Analog

Analog is a charming, dog-friendly café with a small, aesthetic space that’s perfect for enjoying a matcha. Check out my reel featuring this cozy spot here.

Try: Sparkling Strawberry Matcha – Their current summer option is the Sparkling Strawberry Matcha, but their matcha menu rotates throughout the seasons, so keep an eye out for what they’re offering when you visit!

Black Rabbit

Black Rabbit Coffee House is located in the Playa Del Sol Resort, this café is one of those spots that’s easy to overlook but worth adding to your list.

Must try: Blackberry Matcha – The blackberry gives the earthy matcha a fruity twist without being overly sweet. It’s definitely one of the more unique matcha combinations on this list.

Sprout

Sprout has always been one of my go-to spots in Kelowna. Not only do they serve amazing food, but their matcha is a standout. This café is a must-visit if you’re in town! Tucked away in a cozy alley in downtown Kelowna, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy a great meal and a delicious matcha in a laid-back setting.
