Kelowna’s Best Patios for Summer

One of my favourite things about summer in the Okanagan is patio season. Whether you’re meeting friends for happy hour, planning a date night, celebrating a special occasion, or simply looking for somewhere to soak up the sunshine, Kelowna has no shortage of incredible patios.

From waterfront restaurants and rooftop patios to wineries overlooking the vineyards, each spot offers something a little different. Some are perfect for a casual afternoon, while others are worth booking ahead for a leisurely dinner with a view.

Here are 15 patios in and around Kelowna that I find myself going to or recommending again and again.

CRAFT Beer Market

Located right on Bernard Avenue, CRAFT is home to one of the largest rooftop patios in downtown Kelowna, with beautiful views overlooking Okanagan Lake. It’s a great spot for happy hour, brunch, or an evening out with friends. On a warm summer day, I’d highly recommend trying one of their frozen cocktails.

Earls Kitchen & Bar

If you’re after lake views, Earls is hard to beat. Located right along the waterfront, the patio overlooks Okanagan Lake and is especially beautiful during golden hour.

Whether you’re stopping in for lunch, dinner, or cocktails, it’s an easy choice thanks to its diverse menu featuring sushi, steaks, seafood, burgers, and plenty of seasonal cocktails.

OAK + CRU

Located inside the Delta Hotels by Marriott Grand Okanagan Resort, OAK + CRU has one of the nicest waterfront patios downtown. Overlooking the marina, it’s a great spot for brunch, a leisurely lunch, or dinner by the lake. Their menu focuses on locally inspired dishes alongside wood-fired pizzas, fresh seafood, and an excellent selection of Okanagan wines.

Hotel Eldorado

There’s something timeless about dining at Hotel Eldorado. Sitting right on the lake, the patio offers beautiful water views in a relaxed setting that’s perfect for brunch, lunch, or dinner. It’s one of my favourite places to bring out-of-town visitors, especially if they’re looking for that classic Kelowna experience.

King Taps

King Taps has quickly become one of the busiest patios downtown, and it’s easy to see why. The large outdoor space has a fun atmosphere, making it ideal for groups, after-work drinks, or weekend dinners. The menu includes everything from handcrafted pizzas and burgers to salads and cocktails, making it an easy crowd-pleaser.

Kin + Folk

Kin & Folk offers a smaller, more intimate patio just steps from Bernard Avenue. It’s the kind of place that’s perfect for date nights or catching up with friends over cocktails and share plates. The menu feels elevated without being overly formal, and the seasonal dishes make it worth returning throughout the year. Check out my reel here.

Central Kitchen + Bar

Located in the heart of downtown, Central Kitchen has one of the city’s liveliest patios during the summer months. It’s an easy place to stop after exploring Waterfront Park or shopping along Bernard Avenue. Their menu covers everything from tacos and burgers to fresh salads and local craft beer, making it a reliable option for almost any occasion.

Red Bird Brewing

For something a little more casual, Red Bird Brewing is one of my favourite brewery patios in Kelowna. The outdoor beer garden regularly hosts live music, local markets, and community events throughout the summer. Even if beer isn’t your thing, it’s worth visiting for the atmosphere and their wood-fired pizza!

19 Okanagan Grill + Bar

Perched above Two Eagles Golf Course, 19 Okanagan Grill offers sweeping views over Okanagan Lake. Even if you don’t golf, it’s worth visiting for lunch or dinner simply for the scenery. The menu features fresh seafood, steaks, burgers, and seasonal dishes, making it a great choice for everything from casual lunches to special occasions.

Old Vines Restaurant at Quails’ Gate

Old Vines Restaurant has become one of the Okanagan’s most popular winery dining experiences. The patio overlooks the vineyards and lake, creating a beautiful backdrop for a long lunch or sunset dinner. Their seasonal menu highlights local ingredients and pairs perfectly with Quails’ Gate wines. Reservations are highly recommended during the summer.

Terrace Restaurant at Mission Hill Family Estate

If you’re celebrating something special, the Terrace Restaurant at Mission Hill is well worth the visit. The vineyard views are some of the most impressive in the valley, and the food is just as memorable. The menu changes throughout the season and focuses on locally sourced ingredients paired with Mission Hill wines.

Home Block at CedarCreek Estate Winery

Home Block offers a beautiful patio overlooking CedarCreek’s vineyards and Okanagan Lake. The atmosphere is relaxed yet refined, making it an excellent option for a long lunch or an evening celebrating a special occasion. The seasonal menu highlights ingredients sourced from local farms throughout the Okanagan, and the wine pairings are always worth exploring.

Modest Butcher

Located at Mt. Boucherie Estate Winery, Modest Butcher pairs contemporary cuisine with panoramic vineyard and lake views. The patio is spacious, beautifully designed, and feels tucked away from the busier downtown restaurants. If you’re spending a day exploring the Westside Wine Trail, this is an easy stop to add to your itinerary.

Frind Estate Winery

If you’re looking for a patio right on the water, Frind Estate Winery is hard to beat. As North America’s first beachfront winery, it’s one of the few places in the Okanagan where you can sip wine with your toes practically in the sand. Whether you’re stopping in for a wine tasting, sharing a wood-fired pizza, or simply enjoying the lake views with a glass of wine, it’s an easy spot to spend a sunny afternoon.

DunnEnzies Pizza

If a laid-back pizza night is more your style, DunnEnzies in the Lower Mission is always a great choice. Their outdoor patio has a casual, welcoming atmosphere that’s perfect for sharing a few pizzas and drinks with family or friends. With handcrafted pizzas, local beer, and generous portions, it’s an easy spot to settle in for a relaxed summer evening after a day at the beach or exploring the area.

BNA Brewing

BNA Brewing is one of my go-to spots for a casual patio downtown. The spacious outdoor patio has a lively atmosphere, making it a great place to meet friends for drinks, weekend brunch, or dinner. Their menu features elevated pub favourites alongside house-brewed beer and creative cocktails, and if you have time, it’s worth checking out the bowling alley inside after your meal.

Whether you’re looking for a waterfront brunch, happy hour, a casual brewery patio, or a winery dinner with vineyard views, Kelowna has no shortage of great places to enjoy the sunshine. While these are some of my personal favourites, there are plenty of other hidden gems around the city that are worth discovering, too.

If you’re planning to visit during the summer, I’d recommend making reservations where possible, especially on weekends, as many of these patios fill up quickly.
