Brewery Patios in Kelowna B.C.
Did you know that Kelowna has the most breweries per capita in Western Canada?! That’s right! Breweries have been popping up left and right in Kelowna. Such a great idea to hop on a bike, rollerblade, or whatever you please and go brewery hopping. I love going to brewery patios so that I can enjoy the warm summer weather along with a flight of beer and a bar snack.
Here are Some of my Favourite Brewery Patios in Kelowna:
Barn Owl Brewing
Barn Owl Brewing is a brewery in a 1920’s heritage barn in the Lower Mission! It is such a unique and cool space and I highly recommend you check it out. Barn Owl has a large selection of beers to choose from, my personal favourite being the “Raspberry Wheat Ale”. For bar snacks, the offer cheese buns, pretzels, chips and pico de gallo, and more all sourced from local restaurants. With being in a barn, the brewery has a lot of character and a cozy vibe with live music most nights. Check them out!
Shoreline Brewing
Another favorite stop is Shoreline Brewing across from Gyro Beach! It’s perfect for coming for a cold one after a warm day at the beach. Shoreline’s patio is large and mostly uncovered, perfect for catching the sunset. If you come on a Tuesday, they have ‘Taco Tuesday’ where you can try each of their tacos: Korean pork belly, BBQ jackfruit, and baja fish tacos. On a non Taco Tuesday day they have such a great variety of food options. For beer, they also have quite a selection to choose from. My favourite is the “Find your Peach Wheat Ale”. Red Bird Brewing
Red Bird is one of my FAVORITE breweries in Downtown Kelowna. They recently did a big renovation and have a huge outdoor seating area where you can bring your dogs and hang out. They also boast a stage for live music and possess that indoor/outdoor vibe!
What I love about Red Bird’s beer is that their beer names are historical to Kelowna. I.e. “Lady of the Lake” and “The Tomb Stout”. We are always impressed by the gourmet pizza and other food as you don’t always see a lot of food options at breweries. I highly recommend you try out both their beer and food options – you will love the vibe! You can check out my reel for Redbird here.
Unleashed Brewing
Unleashed brewing is a MUST visit. This unique brewery is dog themed from everything from the beer names to the decor. Their flights even come in a dog dish! The also have a cute patio so you can sit in the sun with your four-legged friends and enjoy a cold beer. My favourite beer here is the “London Dog” – a combination of vanilla and earl grey to mimic a London Fog. Check out my reel for Unleashed here.
