Here are some of my favourite wineries in Kelowna and the surrounding Okanagan Valley.

To Impress

If you’re looking for a crowd-pleaser, these wineries deliver incredible views, beautiful tasting rooms, and memorable experiences.

Location: West Kelowna

Mission Hill is a one-of-a-kind, world-renowned winery that deserves a spot on every Kelowna wine tour. From the iconic bell tower to the stunning architecture and panoramic lake views, every part of the property feels impressive. Their tasting experiences are top-notch, and during the summer months, the outdoor amphitheatre hosts concerts and special events.

Location: West Kelowna

Quails’ Gate combines award-winning wines with some of the best views in the Okanagan. The property overlooks Okanagan Lake and is home to Old Vines Restaurant, one of the region’s most celebrated winery restaurants. Don’t miss The Market, a charming picnic area where you can grab snacks and enjoy a glass of wine overlooking the vineyards.

Location: Lake Country

O’Rourke Family Estate is quickly becoming one of the most impressive wine destinations in the Okanagan. Between the stunning lake views, beautiful architecture, wine caves, concerts, and special events, there’s so much more to experience than just a wine tasting. If you’re looking for a winery that combines great wine, incredible scenery, and a memorable day out, this one is well worth the drive to Lake Country.

Location: Kelowna

Summerhill is famous for its iconic pyramid, organic winemaking practices, and exceptional sparkling wines. The winery’s unique setting, wine bottle sculpture, and commitment to sustainability make it a memorable stop. It’s also one of the most recognizable wineries in the Okanagan.

Location: Southeast Kelowna

CedarCreek has become one of the premier wine destinations in the Okanagan. The recently redesigned tasting room is absolutely stunning, featuring contemporary architecture, floor-to-ceiling windows, and breathtaking views overlooking Okanagan Lake. Their wines are consistently excellent, making this a must-visit stop for any Kelowna wine tour.

One of the highlights of visiting CedarCreek is Home Block, the winery’s award-winning restaurant. The seasonal menu showcases local ingredients and exceptional wine pairings. I highly recommend trying their sticky toffee pudding, it’s one of my faves!

Smaller Boutique Wineries

If you’re looking for something a little different, these wineries offer unique experiences and plenty of personality.

Location: West Kelowna

Off the Grid focuses on local, sustainable farming and creating a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Between the food truck, resident goats, and beautiful vineyard setting, it’s the kind of place where you’ll want to spend an afternoon. It’s casual, welcoming, and unlike any other winery experience in the valley.

Location: West Kelowna

Crown & Thieves feels more like a castle than a winery. With its unique atmosphere, rooftop restaurant, hidden speakeasy, and frequent events, it’s one of the most fun and memorable winery experiences in the Okanagan.

The Hatch is known for its laid-back vibe, quirky branding, colourful artwork, and wines that don’t take themselves too seriously. Every visit feels fun, approachable, and a little different from your typical winery experience. Be sure to check out Hatchtown, a unique outdoor space overlooking Okanagan Lake featuring private huts, picnic tables, wine, and food from Snobby Chix. It’s the perfect spot to relax with friends and soak up the Okanagan sunshine.

Location: West Kelowna

Frind made history as North America’s first beachfront winery. Located directly on Okanagan Lake, it’s one of the few wineries where you can arrive by boat and dock right at the property. The lakeside setting makes it a perfect stop on a hot summer day. In addition to wine tastings, Frind offers a restaurant and takeout menu with pizzas and other delicious options, making it easy to enjoy a meal while taking in the beautiful lake views.

Niche Wine Co. is one of the Okanagan’s best boutique winery discoveries. Family-owned and proudly independent, the winery specializes in small-batch wines and unique varietals you won’t find everywhere else. The relaxed atmosphere, beautiful vineyard views, and innovative wines make it a must-visit for anyone looking to try something new.

Location: West Kelowna

One of the newest additions to the Kelowna wine scene, Azhadi offers a refined boutique winery experience with stunning vineyard views and thoughtfully crafted wines. The property feels intimate and luxurious, making it a great choice for those looking to escape the crowds.

A visit isn’t complete without stopping at Journey at Azhadi, where locally inspired dishes and carefully curated wine pairings create a memorable dining experience.

Must Try Wineries

These are the wineries I find myself returning to again and again.

Location: Lake Country

50th Parallel consistently delivers fantastic wines, beautiful lake views, and one of the best winery dining experiences in the valley. Block One Restaurant is worth the visit alone, offering incredible food that perfectly complements the winery’s wines.

Location: West Kelowna

Mount Boucherie offers stunning views of Okanagan Lake and a welcoming atmosphere. Their restaurant, Modest Butcher, serves some of my favourite food in wine country and is a great place to enjoy lunch or dinner after a tasting.

Location: West Kelowna

Black Swift combines a modern atmosphere with bold wines and dramatic views. Known for its rich reds and unique wine portfolio, it’s a great choice for visitors looking to try something a little different.

Location: Lake Country

Arrowleaf is famous for its cream puffs, picturesque setting, and beautiful picnic area overlooking Okanagan Lake. It’s one of the most relaxing wineries to visit and the perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon.

Location: Lake Country

Peak Cellars offers incredible vineyard views, excellent wines, and one of the best farm-to-table experiences in the Okanagan. The winery specializes in cool-climate varietals and provides a relaxed atmosphere that makes it easy to spend an entire afternoon here.

A visit isn’t complete without stopping at the Garden Bistro, where much of the produce is grown directly on the property. The fresh seasonal menu, vineyard views, and welcoming patio make it one of my favourite places for lunch in wine country.
