My Guide to Okanagan Lake – Kelowna Edition

Okanagan Lake is just one of the many gems that the Okanagan has to offer, spanning from Vernon to Penticton. While there are many great things to do all along Okanagan Lake, this blog post is going to focus specifically on the Kelowna area. Okanagan Lake is a great place to enjoy on a hot summer day, whether to relax with friends or to have some fun. I wanted to create a resource for you to refer to so you can experience all that Okanagan Lake has to offer, which is why I have created My Guide to Okanagan Lake – Kelowna Edition.

Activities

Parks and Beaches

  • Hot Sands Beach – take a stroll on this sandy beach and soak up the beauty of Okanagan Lake. You’ll barely even remember you’re in Downtown Kelowna!
  • City Parkenjoy picnic areas, a waterpark and playground, volleyball and basketball courts, and so much more.
  • Waterfront Park – walk along the boardwalk while taking in the beautiful gardens, art, and a view of Downtown Kelowna.
  • Gyro Beach – one of Kelowna’s most popular beaches. Snack venue, volleyball courts, playground, water rentals, and much more.

Lakeside Dining

  • Oak + Cru is located in the Delta Grand Hotel downtown. It’s located waterfront, but on the lagoon side of downtown so the atmosphere is a bit quainter. Check out my reel of their patio here.
  • The boardwalk dining at Hotel Eldorado is a lovely place to enjoy lakeside dining and a marina in one. I highly recommend boating up to the Eldorado Marina and dining lakeside! Check out my reel featuring the Eldorado here.
  • Enjoy casual fine dining lakeside at Cactus Club, a Kelowna staple!
  • Boat to Frind Winery, a beachfront winery! You can park your boat on their dock and enjoy a wine tasting.

Whether you are a local to the area looking for something new to do on a hot summer day or a tourist in the area, I hope this guide gave you some ideas! While you are exploring Okanagan Lake, you may want to checkout Downtown Kelowna. In that case, download my exclusive guide to Downtown Kelowna here. This guide highlights restaurants, shopping, evening activities and MORE.

PS – be sure to keep an eye out for the Ogopogo, the local lake monster that is said to live in Okanagan Lake 😉
