Okanagan Lake is just one of the many gems that the Okanagan has to offer, spanning from Vernon to Penticton. While there are many great things to do all along Okanagan Lake, this blog post is going to focus specifically on the Kelowna area. Okanagan Lake is a great place to enjoy on a hot summer day, whether to relax with friends or to have some fun. I wanted to create a resource for you to refer to so you can experience all that Okanagan Lake has to offer, which is why I have created My Guide to Okanagan Lake – Kelowna Edition.

Activities
- Rent a boat and explore the lake – Kelowna Boat Rentals, Okanagan Lake Boat Rentals, Downtown Marina Kelowna, Wake Up Okanagan.
- Take a boat tour with an experienced captain so that everyone can relax and have fun – Kelowna Boat Tours, Luxury Lake Tours, Kelowna Water Taxi & Cruises.
- Paddleboard, kayak, pedal boats, water trike, or canoe rentals – Kelowna Paddle Centre, Okanagan Beach Rentals.
- Have you ever wanted to fly above the lake? Parasailing might be for you! Get pulled behind a boat while attached to a parachute – Okanagan Parasail, Ogopogo Parasail, Kelowna Parasail.
- Take an E-bike tour along the lake with Lakeside Eco-Sports.
- Fly over Okanagan Lake in a unique way with hydroflying! At HydroFly Kelowna, they have experienced staff so you can feel prepared and excited before taking a flight.
- Check out Kelowna’s only floating Tiki Boats! At Tiki Time Tours, you can be taken around Okanagan Lake in style with your very own captain.
- Hang out on the Wibit Floating Water Park, equipped with climbing walls, monkey bars, slides, trampolines, and more. Perfect for kids and the whole family!
Parks and Beaches
- Hot Sands Beach – take a stroll on this sandy beach and soak up the beauty of Okanagan Lake.
- City Park – enjoy picnic areas, a waterpark and playground, volleyball and basketball courts, and so much more.
- Waterfront Park – walk along the boardwalk while taking in the beautiful gardens, art, and a view of Downtown Kelowna.
- Gyro Beach – one of Kelowna’s most popular beaches. Snack venue, volleyball courts, playground, water rentals, and much more.
- Paul’s Tomb- take a hike along Knox Mountain Park to a beautiful rocky beach, plus cliff jumping if you’re feeling adventurous!
- Bertram Creek Regional Park- enjoy a picnic, or BBQ at this beach on Lakeshore.
- Rotary Beach Park- located just minutes from Gyro, along Lakeshore. Pick between both grassy or sandy areas to lounge.
- Tugboat Beach- Waterfront beach located in downtown Kelowna near the Dolphins Waterscape and The Delta Grand Hotel offers, beautiful landscapes, paddle boat rentals, shops, and a sandy beach to relax.
Lakeside Dining
- Oak + Cru is located in the Delta Grand Hotel downtown. It’s located waterfront, but on the lagoon side of downtown so the atmosphere is a bit quaint. Check out my reel of their patio here.
- The boardwalk dining at Hotel Eldorado is a lovely place to enjoy lakeside dining and a marina in one. I highly recommend boating up to the Eldorado Marina and dining lakeside! Check out my reel featuring the Eldorado here.
- Enjoy casual fine dining lakeside at Cactus Club, a Kelowna staple!
- Located on downtown Kelowna’s vibrant waterfront and offering two levels of indoor and outdoor Lake Okanagan views, King Taps is known for its energetic vibe, delicious pizza and over 50 beer taps.
- Boat to Frind Winery, a beachfront winery! You can park your boat on their dock and enjoy a wine tasting.
