The Brewery Scene of Kelowna

Did you know that Kelowna has the most breweries per capita in Western Canada?! We are so lucky to be surrounded by so many breweries, all with a different vibe. In this blog post, I am sharing some of my favorite breweries in the city. I flagged my favourite spots with ** for your reference.

Breweries of Kelowna

  • ** Barn Owl Brewing – Located in Lower Mission. The brewery is located in a barn, providing a unique environment for drinking beer.
  • ** Shoreline Brewing – Perfect place to go for a cold one after leaving Gyro Beach! I love their peach wheat ale. Check out my reel featuring it here.
  • ** Red Bird Brewing – This is one of my favourite breweries in Kelowna. They have good pizza, a great outdoor space, and often host a variety of live music! I made a reel for this one too, check it out here.
  • Unleashed Brewing – This place is a must-visit! This unique brewery is dog-themed, everything from the beer names to the decor. My favourite beer here is the “London Dog” – a combination of vanilla and earl grey to mimic a London Fog. Their flights are even served in a dog dish! Another reel featuring this fun brewery here.

  •  **BNA Brewing Co. and Eatery – This is a popular place to go out in Kelowna. This funky place serves as a brewery and a bowling alley, you can get an idea of the vibes in my reel, here. They also have fun activities like Skee Ball, Ms. Pac-Man, and card games.
  • Kelowna Beer Institute – This is an OG Kelowna brewery. They make a yummy radler that is a combination of their beer and in-house made soda.
  • Kelowna Brewing Company – Located in the university district and caters to a younger crowd.
  • Vice & Virtue Brewing Co. – I love their Love Potion Raspberry Beer. I buy a 4-pack of it to bring home all the time!
  • The Office Brewery – They have cocktail flights which is fun and different! They rotate depending on the time of year and season.
  • Jackknife Brewing – Known for their “weird beer” and tasty pizza.
  • Copper Brewing Co. – One of the few breweries not located Downtown but instead, in the Landmark District. They have 19 different craft beers on tap.
  • Wild Ambition Brewing – The only brewery in the interior of British Columbia focused on bottle conditioned mixed-fermentation ales. They are wild and creative!
  • Rustic Reel Brewing Company – This is such a great event space! They have good beer and yummy bites such as Basil, Broccoli & Zucchini Gnocchi.
  • Kettle River Brewing – A craft beer garage located in the North End of Kelowna.
